best ideas for your essay
When it comes to writing academic papers, there are various things that you need to bear in mind in order to ensure that you are successful with the work that you produce. For example, it is important to understand how to structure the work that you write, so as to have maximum effect, and to adhere to any requirements relating to the style of essay that you are writing.
For example, if you have been asked to write a comparative essay, then you will need to understand how to structure the work in order to be as effective as possible. In order to understand how to structure this kind of academic paper, you first need to understand what a comparative essay is.
Essentially, a comparative essay will look it two different topics, so as to see what similarities exist between the two, as well as any differences - essentially, you will simply be comparing the two topics.
Whilst more comprehensive academic papers, such as dissertations, will require you to write a wide variety of different sections, you will ultimately be following the same broad structure, in that you will have the beginning of your essay (the introduction), the middle (the body section), and the end (the conclusion). Of course, these different sections may include further subsections; for example, your body section may be made up of a methodology and a result section, amongst others; however, the overall introduction / body / conclusion format will be seen in most, if not all academic papers
Your introduction will essentially be used to tell the reader more about the topics that you will be discussing. You may wish to introduce each different topic individually, and provide a brief background to each of them. Furthermore, you may also wish to include some brief details of the similarities or differences that you will be looking at.
The body section is where the main details of your paper will be included. When it comes to a comparative paper, you all look at various aspects relating to the two topics that you are discussing. You should use a new paragraph for each similarity or difference that you refer to.
Having discussed various similarities or differences in the body section, you will then use your conclusion to identify whether you think that the two topics can be considered to be more similar or different overall.
